How to Use
1. Add a Video
Add the video you want to resize. Common video formats such as MP4, MOV, and WebM are supported. If your video format cannot be recognized, you can first use the Video Converter to convert it before resizing.
2. Set the Video Size
Enter the desired width and height in the size settings, or choose a preset size. Common video dimensions include 1920×1080, 1280×720, and 1080×1920. Choose the appropriate aspect ratio based on the platform or playback device.
3. Choose a Fit Mode
When the video's aspect ratio does not match the target size, you can choose different ways to fit the video. Scale tries to preserve the original video content; Crop removes parts outside the target area so the video completely fills the canvas. With Blur Background , the original video content remains intact while the remaining space is filled with a background generated from the video. This is especially useful for converting landscape videos to portrait or portrait videos to landscape. If you want to keep empty space, you can also choose a custom canvas background color.
4. Check the Settings and Process the Video
After setting the size, fit mode, and output format, check that the settings are correct. Choose the desired format, such as MP4, and click Start Processing . The tool will generate a new video according to your settings.
5. Save the Result
When the video is ready, click Download to save the new file. The resized video will be exported according to your settings and can be used on computers, phones, tablets, websites, and other platforms.
Notes
- Before creating short videos or uploading to a website, set the video dimensions according to the requirements of the target platform.
- If you want to preserve the entire original video, use Scale or Blur Background instead of forcing the video to be cropped.
- Use Crop when you want the video to completely cover the target canvas.
- When the landscape and portrait aspect ratios differ significantly, Blur Background can reduce large empty areas on the sides or top and bottom of the video.
- Larger output dimensions generally require more processing and may take longer, especially for high-resolution or long videos.
- Video processing is performed locally in your browser. Your files do not need to be uploaded to a server.
- For a better experience, we recommend using a recent version of Chrome, Edge, or Safari.
